  • Category Tab on WFC not working
"I just change this thread and it worked fine CD."
Bells, I am not talking about "Change Category" link above a thread when reading the thread, I am referencing the Category tab under Discussion Forums. It lists 4 different tabs. Categories - All Threads - Featured Threads - Keyword Tag Group. Clicking on the Category Tab should list all the Categories available in the Discussion Forums and it does not.

I should have been more clear in my description

  • How to add categories? Hi there,
Go to the discussions link. When a new thread is added, or any existing ones, if you are an Admin or moderator you can change the category by pressing the moderator tools link and press the General Discussion link and a little box will open up. It will say Off topic add new category.

Here is a link to an information page. Any problems please call back.

  • CSS Compatibility Can you work with CSS/HTML iframes on Wikifoundry to give your site a more appealing layout? The EasyEdit feature is nice, but I would like to start using more complex features for my site. I have noticed how the “theme” of your website only changes the color scheme (you can’t even make your own!) and you’re still given the same basic, well, ugly layout and no font editing options outside of the editing zone. I really enjoy the rp community here because I have been using Wetpaint/Wikifoundry since the very start but honestly, if I was not so attached to the community I’d ditch this website in a heartbeat and switch to a forum service like Proboards or MyBB. So, my real question: will Wikifoundry be introducing a custom site layout/appearance option for advanced users in the near future? I don’t want to start putting hours into developing my site if I have to wait a year or two for that feature when it is readily available in most other forum hosting services. It may not matter to you if just one person stops using your service, but it would make my life a lot easier if I could know what I should do. I might just start using a forum host regardless, but please, let me know if there are going to be such changes in the future.
    Thank you!
(PS: sorry if I sound rude or angry. Trying to set up this new site I have planned has been pretty stressful and I would just like to know if there’s any way I can not give up the site service I have been using for years and years and am familiar with.)

  • Can't create site. I just created a wiki without any issues.
Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Instructions can be found on the Browser Support page:
    http://www.wikifoundrycentral.com/page/Browser+Support

Alternately, you can download CCleaner and do the above to all your browsers with a single program. It's safe, effective, and a very trusted software program:
    https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Also, caringkit, only create a thread if it's a different issue. You commented on this, then created your own. That just clutters the forums. Thanks.

  • HTML in Threads?
"Okay I'm new to staffing kinda. I have a couple friends who can make their threads hmtled and pretty with different fonts and all, and I have been asking, but no one ever wants to tell me. Like, is it so bad? If someone could tell me, I would love to know o: Even if it's in a private message."
You will likely get no help, as Bells pointed out.
The reason is it's a 'secret' no one shares anymore. A good enough search with Google could easily lead you to finding out how, but other than that, you won't get any help.

    "Like, is it so bad?"
    Both yes and no. Yes in the sense Bells described. If a spammer were to learn it, they would go nuts and cause mischief and mayhem in threads. No in the sense that most forums have the basic html and have it on, off, or limited to basic, but Wetpaint didn't design the forums to behave as such, and nothing has changed since Travis took ownership;
It still doesn't ofically support html.
and it still violates the Terms of Service: http://www.wikifoundrycentral.com/terms

We at WikiFoundry Central will not tell you, nor will any community members (inside or outside of WikiFoundry Central), for the simple fact that we who know how don't want others to know in case they go blabbing it off to others, who use it to cause mischief. It'd be chaos.

  • Major problems on the True Blood Wiki We are nearly at a standstill on the True Blood Wiki with multiple issues with it's operation.
    1. Page loads - can take anywhere from 30 seconds to NEVER to load.
    2. Many members can no longer sign on to their accounts.
    3. Forum thread pages load slowly and often send you to an error page or say the wiki is down for maintenance.
    4, Widgets no longer work.
    5. Content modules no longer work.
    6. Photo slide shows no longer work.
    7. Error messages that wiki is down for maintenance after loading a page.

Please resolve these issues as soon as possible. Our members are frustrated, especially since the end of the season is winding up, and they can't chat about it in the forums.

    Best wishes,
    GlamouredBy-Eric, True Blood Wiki Administrator
